welcoming 2010

Dear Friends,
Who would be able to predict that during this period in 2008, i was not even among the top 5 BWF ranked- player, and now a year later, i’m currently ranked 3rd in the world.
Likewise i have also been building my game, regaining my form and fitness in each tournament that i’ve been through for 2009; and the result has been satisfying, even though i aim to continue doing more and reach higher targets in the coming year.
This year has been a whirlwind year for me personally, starting off with me parting ways with PBSI at the end of January, the succesful launch of “Taufik Hidayat Line” (THL) in partnership with Yonex, being chosen by UNICEF as one of the “Pendekar Anak/Champion for Children”; a cause that is very close and dear to me, slowly finding my ground amongst the professional world of badminton with my own sports management, THForce; and finally being able to slowly realizing the dreams and ambitions that i have longed for after almost two decades playing as a badminton player, to relit the love and passion i have for the game.
2010 holds many goals as well as new beginnings for me, starting with the development of the Taufik Hidayat Arena (TH Arena) which is scheduled to start construction by end of March 2010.
Yonex and i also have plans on continuing the success of THL, which has proved positive sales during Indonesia Open, World Championships in India and Hong Kong Open this year, the plan is by expanding the range of products, taking the designs onto another level with the lifestyle section and by reaching a wider market in America and Europe in the year 2010.
The ups and downs; the pain and joy, on and off the court, i feel really blessed in 2009. Hopefully 2010 will hold even more success and happiness for all of us.

Please let us know your schedule for tournaments, where are you going to in 2010 - may be I have to adjust my private schedules in order to get free time enough to watch you playing some finals next - LOL - yeah - I really hope to see you on top of the podium this year, just go and do it! Nice to see you wanting so much more from badminton, as a fan I will support you all the way as you motivate me to play and train harder too. Just a question, will THL come to Australia and would the price be similar to Hong Kong? As I wanted to buy a THL shirt (white) one and asked my dad in HK to look for it, but it turned out to be $1500, and because of that i didn't get it and very dissapointed... not saying its not worth it, but just can't afford it... lol.
